Dams are being removed on rivers across the continent. As rivers return to natural states, one challenge is keeping invasive fish out while allowing native species to move freely. On the Boardman River in northwest Michigan, a state-of-the-art research facility will use a series of technologies to determine which fish go further upstream. The project can be a model for programs around the world.
