The University of Michigan’s campus has long been a place where social justice and activism have been emphasized. From civil rights and the anti-war movement in the 1950’s and 60’s to the BAM and LGBT movements of the past several decades, University of Michigan students have recognized that part of a university education is the responsibility to speak out about injustice and intolerance.
