The algal blooms on Lake Erie started coming back in the 1990s. It got really bad a few years ago but it took the shutdown of Toledo’s water supply last year to get any real action by state and federal government. But how much has been done? And what really needs to be done to fix this toxic problem? Detroit Public Television takes a look.
